O que vocês acham do transporte público em Dublin?

Existem dois tipos de transporte público em Dublin – Dublin BUS  e o LUAS.

Atualmente, utilizo somente o Dublin BUS quando vou a casa de amigos (faço tudo a pé! – moro perto da minha English School Dublin)), e o LUAS já utilizei 2 vezes para ir no shopping drumdrum.

No Dublin BUS eles só aceitam moeda e eles não dão troco (dão um papel REFUND e você depois tem que trocar ali perto do Spire). O valor e calculado conforme a distância, se você estiver indo mais longe, paga mais! Se não me engano, a menor tarifa é €1.40.

No caso do LUAS, existem dois trajetos – duas linhas: RED e GREEN Line. Você pega uma ali em frente ao Stephens Green, perto da minha English School Dublin, e a outra ali perto do SPIRE (ambas não são interligadas). Os preços tambem variam, e já vi muitos que não pagaram serem pegos pelos fiscais (daí tem que pagar uma multa de +- 50 euros!). Os tickets você compra na maquininha em frente à estação, é bem simples e auto-explicativo.

E’ passato un mesetto da quando scrissi l’ultima volta su questo blog…davvero?!Così tanto tempo?!?Saranno state le vacanze natalizie ma non me ne sono proprio reso conto!!Come avete trascorso le vostre vacanze?!Divertiti?!E com’è iniziato il vostro 2012?!Io dopo aver passato uno splendido S.Silvestro a Catania sono ritornato alla base grazie ad un volo Ryanair. Tornato a Dublino ho ripreso col mio corso Inglese Irlanda perchè non si smette mai di imparare. A brevi avrò i risultati del Cambridge Certificate e allora tutti a festeggiare!!! A proposito, vi avevo già detto che la nostra Scuola lingua inglese oltre ad organizzare corsi di Inglese Generale mette a disposizione specifici corsi di preparazione a diversi esami quali First Certificate, Certificate in Advance English e IELTS. Un nuovo anno irlandese è iniziato e nuove avventure mi aspettano…a presto! Cheers!

Last week, at class in my English Dublin School, we discussed about fashion and some of classmates said that they already bought clothes at Penneys, and also enjoyed it!

Penneys (or Primark) has 198 shops around Europe (Ireland, UK, Spain, etc.)

To be dressed in the height of fashion (at least I guess it!) and not spend too much?

Penneys is a huge shop, where you can find clothes for women, for man, and also stuffs for your bathroom, for your home, etc. (everything you might find there!!)

I’ve seen there t-shirts for JUST 3 euro, winter coats for 20 euro, runners for up to 10 euro, etc. And if you are a student, as I am, Penneys is good place!!

There are many shops in Dublin, and I guess the nearest of Ulearn is that one in front of Spire!

E quanto a lugares para se comprar roupa em Dublin?

Semana passada, na minha sala em minha English School Dublin, estávamos falando sobre fashion e muitos falaram que já compraram e adoram comprar na Penneys!

Estar na moda e nao gastar muito?

A Penneys é uma mega-loja que oferece de tudo: roupas para mulher, homem, coisas de banheiro, coisas para casa, etc.

Voce acha blusas por 3 euros, casacos de inverno por 20 euros, tênis por até 10 euros, etc. E se você é estudante, e tá na economia, lá é bom lugar!

Existem várias lojas aqui em Dublin, a mais perto da Ulearn seria a em frente ao Spire!

I’ll tell you guys about my experience as a Waitress at Eddie Rockets…’

So, I was walking at templebar, looking for a job (advertisements on the windows)+(I had already email my CVs, but I think it’s better when you drop them off in the shops).I saw on the Eddie’s windows that they were hiring and when I got in the restaurant, the manager was there at the time (:D) and he asked me when and what time I would be available to work, and also said to me that he would call me later, if he needed.

He finally called me, 4 days later, and already asked me my documents (PPS number, Passport, GNIB, etc.). I got so so happy and excited to start working there!! He talked to me about the job, in general (that I must be quickly at the lunch time, for example). Although being a bit afraid in the beginning, I already got used to working there and I’m very happy about my job!

The manager said to me that it would be training in the beginning (+- 6 weeks), and if I had done a good work, I would start working there as a waitress. And after a while, I started receiving my weekly schedule (each week I receive a different schedule).

My shifts are very flexible, I work in the afternoon, in the evening, and also at night (it’s hard to work from midnight to 06h!!!). I have contact with lots of people, from different countries, what is very very good as I’m always looking for some opportunity to improve my English!

Since I came to Dublin, I’ve been looking for some way to have contact with people from the entire World, and there I’ve been having contact with them (lots of Irish, for example). It’s being a different experience in my life, as a challenge, and I started concerning myself about things that wouldn’t concern if I had stayed in Brazil.

I’ve seen in Dublin lots of Brazilian people finding their jobs and keeping the English away. Instead of this, I clearly see how important is to go to school, ( Learn English Dublin !! ) learn grammar and vocabulary there, and practice what I had learnt in my job (also, I said it to the Eddie’s manager, alerting him that I wouldn’t change my school time due to my work schedule).

My English Dublin School is being so great, my teacher is excellent, and I’ve been learning new stuffs every day, what is contributing a lot for my English improvement. I will go back to Brazil with a huge vocabulary that wouldn’t have learnt if I hadn’t come to Dublin!

Hoje temos o depoimento da Luiza, que irá nos contar como é trabalhar como garçonete lá no Eddie Rocket’s !

Vou contar para vocês a minha experiência como garçonete no Eddie Rocket’s….

Então, eu estava andando em busca de emprego (já tinha mandado CV pela internet, mas sempre achei melhor entregar o meu CV pessoalmente nas lojas), na região do templebar, e por acaso passei em frente ao Eddie Rockets, e vi a plaquinha de que estavam contratando. Quando entrei para entregar o meu CV, tive a sorte do gerente estar lá na hora, e aí ele me perguntou quando eu estaria disponível e me falou que ligaria depois,  caso precisasse.

Ele me ligou, 4 dias depois, e já para levar os documentos (PPS, Passaporte, GNIB, etc). Fiquei muito feliz!!Ele conversou comigo sobre o emprego (que teria que ser rápida, por causa do movimento e etc.). Apesar de ficar com medo no inicio, superei e hoje em dia já estou acostumada e feliz com meu emprego!

O gerente me explicou que seria um treinamento primeiro (+-6 semanas), e que se eu me saísse bem, ele me contrataria. Aí, depois de um tempo, ele já deixou claro que investiria em mim e já recebi o cronograma da semana (cada semana é um cronograma diferente).

O meu horário é bem flexível, trabalho de tarde, de noite, e até de madrugada (o que é pesado, trabalhar de 00h até 06h, por exemplo). Tenho contato com MUITA gente, e é um trabalho pesado de vez em quando (além de servir pedidos, preparo as bebidas, tomo conta da limpeza do restaurante, dos banheiros – ao contrário dos restaurantes do Brasil, lá nao tem o cleaner -, etc.).

Acho que é um boa oportunidade, uma vez que desde que vim para cá tenho o objetivo de ter contato com estrageiros, e lá tenho contato com pessoas do mundo inteiro (muitos irlandeses). É uma experiência diferente, um desafio, e você começa a dar valor para sua vida uma vez que é um trabalho pesado, o qual eu não tinha noção enquanto morava no Brasil.

O que já vi muito aqui, são brasileiros achando emprego e deixando de lado a escola. Ao contrário disso, vejo a grande importância de se frequentar a escola – Learn English Dublin –  uma vez que aprendo a teoria lá e coloco em prática no emprego (e já ate conversei isso com o gerente, o alertando que nao queria atrapalhar o meu horario da escola).

Minha English School Dublin está sendo ótima, meu professor é excelente, e a cada dia eu aprendo coisas novas, e que vem me agregando muito. Vou voltar para o Brasil com um vocabulario que nunca teria aprendido se não tivesse vindo para cá!!

Hey folks, hey 2012!!

Starting 2012, motivated, I was wondering:

Why are we learning English? Why is it so important to get fluent English? (Why are we trying to Learn English Dublin?)

The ability of speak and understand in English is very important nowadays, and we can realize it since we are children (watching the tv for example), and in many situation in our life we’ll need this language (you can believe me!!!).

Once you are travelling and you cannot find your hotel, or even the correct train to the airport, you probably will find someone who speaks English, and then you can sort out your problem.

And about the professional reason? Important? Employers certainly will treat you better if you have the mastery of this language (and in Brazil it is very very important!!!)

Although China is probably the next world’s potency, the English is going to be used for a long long time in business.

The English is official in 53 countries, and has a huge number of speakers around the World.

And thinking about that, I’ll start my 2012 concentrated on my English improvement!! My English classes in my English School Dublin just started and I already have many new words to study!

E para começar 2012 bem e com motivaçao, valem as perguntas:

Por que estamos em busca do Inglês? Por que estamos buscando a fluência na língua? (mais especificamente por que eu e muitos brasileiros viemos Learn English Dublin ??)

A capacidade de falar e entender Inglês é de enorme valor nos dias atuais, e já percebemos isso desde pequenos (jogando vídeo game por exemplo), e em várias situaçoes na vida precisaremos do domínio dessa língua.

Se você estiver viajando e não encontrar o seu hotel, ou mesmo o aeroporto, voce irá ver que com o Inglês, voce sempre (ou quase sempre) ira encontrar alguem que irá entendê-lo.

E quanto ao motivo profissional? Possíveis empregadores irão certamente nos tratar com prioridade se provarmos ou demonstrarmos nossa capacidade de nos expressarmos em Inglês.

Apesar da China estar próxima de ser a maior potência do mundo, o Ingles ainda será por muitos anos a lingua mais usada nos negócios.

A língua inglesa é oficial de 53 países, e é majoritariamente falado em mais de 80, além de ter um número absurdamente grande de falantes em outros países cujas línguas oficiais são outras.

E pensando nisso, vou começar 2012 focado no meu desenvolvimento na língua!! As aulas na minha English School Dublin já começaram e vocabulário nao falta!!
